Mike Magidson is a Board-Certified health law attorney who represents physicians, group practices, and health care businesses in regulatory, transactional, and compliance matters. With nearly two decades of experience, Mike advises clients across the care continuum—from solo practitioners to large multi-specialty groups—on forming, growing, and selling their practices while navigating a highly regulated industry. He is also a trusted legal partner for businesses of all types in their general transactional matters, from startup to sale.
Mike’s practice centers on structuring and negotiating business deals, including asset and stock purchase agreements, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, employment contracts, private placements, and loan documentation. He provides day-to-day counsel to a diverse array of health care clients, including dental practices, billing and management companies, surgery centers, hospices, diagnostic labs, oncology groups, catheterization labs, and compounding pharmacies. A major part of his work involves analyzing transactions for compliance with the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, Florida’s self-referral laws, HIPAA, and Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
As a member of the Health Law Certification Committee for The Florida Bar, Mike not only holds one of the state’s most selective legal credentials—fewer than 130 attorneys are Board Certified in Health Law—but he also helps write the certification exam. He is particularly passionate about guiding clients through transformative transactions, such as selling a practice or taking on a strategic investor, often at one of the most pivotal moments in their careers. He also takes pride in helping clients avoid litigation by resolving pre-dispute issues informally whenever possible.
Mike’s style is grounded in practicality and problem-solving. A second-generation attorney, he grew up seeing how practical legal guidance can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. He carries that same ethos into his own practice, helping physicians and health care professionals manage risk, reduce pressure, and focus on what they do best—caring for patients.
