Jason is a corporate and tax attorney in the firm’s Clearwater office, with nearly two decades of experience guiding closely held businesses and their owners through corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and domestic and international tax planning. His work follows the full life cycle of a business — formation, growth, and eventually a sale or transition to the next generation.
What sets Jason apart is the decade he spent on the other side of the table. Midway through his career, he stepped away from full-time law practice to co-own and help run an international distributor of printed circuit boards. Those years included a management buyout, cross-border operations, and the eventual sale of the company to a publicly traded foreign strategic acquirer — a deal he steered through review and clearance by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). Jason signed the agreements, met payroll, managed daily operational challenges, and lived with every deal term. That firsthand experience as a business owner grounds his legal advice in the practical realities owners face: shifting markets, competitive pressure, and decisions that can’t wait.
Clients turn to Jason for clear answers and practical, business-minded solutions. He translates complex tax and corporate law concepts into decisions a business owner can act on — structuring the tax side of a sale, resolving cross-border tax and regulatory issues, and aligning a transaction with estate planning and succession goals. Rather than asking whether a deal can work, Jason puts himself in the client’s position and asks what would make it work — not just as the attorney on the deal, but as a partner in it.
