Ashley O. Ogedegbe is an attorney in the firm’s St. Petersburg office who concentrates her practice on healthcare transactions, regulatory compliance, and related business matters. She works with healthcare providers, health systems, and digital health companies to support growth initiatives while managing regulatory risk in an increasingly complex and fast-changing healthcare environment.

Ashley brings a practical, business-oriented perspective to her work, informed by experience advising on sophisticated healthcare transactions as well as hands-on exposure to operational and compliance challenges within healthcare organizations. Her background includes advising clients at the intersection of healthcare delivery, technology, and innovation, with a particular focus on helping organizations structure and scale services in a compliant and sustainable manner.

In addition to her private practice experience, Ashley has served as an in-house counsel secondee for both a public hospital and a global pharmaceutical company. These roles provide her with valuable insight into internal decision-making, risk management, and regulatory considerations, allowing her to deliver advice that is both legally sound and aligned with clients’ business objectives

Representative Matters

  • Transactions: Provided counsel on $2.2 billion physician-led buyout and recapitalization of the nation’s largest gastroenterology practice management company.
    • Provided counsel for health systems in connection with strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and affiliations. 
  • Regulatory & Compliance: Helped clients navigate corporate practice of medicine requirements, federal and state healthcare fraud and abuse compliance matters, professional licensure, credentialing, and Patient Safety Act and patient safety organization requirements.
  • Digital Health: Represented providers across specialties, including but not limited to, behavioral health, physical therapy, chiropractic medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, to form and expand their telemedicine and telehealth practices nationally and internationally.
    • Provided healthcare regulatory and transactional counsel for venture capital fund’s digital therapeutics portfolio.
  • Practical Business Guidance: Served as an in-house counsel secondee for: (1) a public hospital within a county health district, negotiating contracts and advising on regulatory compliance and risk management; and (2) for a global pharmaceutical company, advising on novel privacy/HIPAA and regulatory issues for a direct-to-consumer digital health initiative.
